Awesome Foursome From New South Wales
NASR National Office posted Wednesday October 21, 2009.

Speedway sedan fans no doubt have fond memories of the halcyon days of Super Sedan competition at the now defunct Newcastle Motordrome, the finest drivers from Australia and overseas locking horns on a weekly basis to produce some incredible racing. For so long, the Newcastle region of New South Wales was the undisputed centre of the Super Sedan universe.

However, following the closure of the Newcastle circuit, the category struggled for recognition and opportunities in New South Wales for several years. However, recent seasons have seen a resurgence of popularity for the category and a growth in competitor numbers thanks to the hard work of competitors and officials and the loyal support of several regional venues throughout the state.

The Carline Mufflers National Super Sedan Series has also played a significant role in revitalising the category and, subsequently, the 2009/2010 championship will feature the largest ever contingent of drivers from New South Wales. This season, four competitors from New South Wales – Wayne Brims, Tony Barklimore, Clayton Pyne and Lachlan Onley – have secured a place amongst the 25 contracted drivers confirmed thus far.
